How does ViSalus compare to other plans/programs that people try?  There are tons of programs and products on the market.  But I personally have never seen any with the level of ideal nutrition, simplicity or success as the Body by Vi Challenge.  It works because it is easy, it tastes great and it rewards people for doing what they should be doing for their bodies anyway – and it’s fun!  The Vi-Pak is fabulous.  In this day and age nobody is getting all of the nutrition they need from their food, so the Vi-Pak assures that they get all of the vitamins and minerals, essential fatty acids and antioxidants they need daily.  Plus, the patented anti-aging and energy supplement us a hit with most people I know.

Our children are the future – and so is technology.  This isn’t breaking news.  But what happens when one becomes a detriment to the other?  That’s the unfortunate issue we’re facing as a country.  While today’s incredible technological advancements are increasing the ways we learn and conduct business, they’re simultaneously having an adverse effect on our kids.

Today, 32 percent of all children and adolescents in America qualify as overweight or obese.  Their eating habits and sedentary hobbies are quickly putting them at higher risk for health conditions associated with too much weight and too little physical exercise.

Whereas high-tech capabilities are catapulting early education years ahead of prior generations, how do we compensate for the loss of physical fitness, and the influx of cost-friendly fast-food chains?

Thankfully, the White House has addressed the issue.  An initiative headed by First Lady Michelle Obama has the ultimate goal of reversing childhood obesity and getting America’s kids healthy again.  Hers is a mission that not only impacts the health and well-being of children across the country, but potentially the economic bottom line of the United States for years to come.

Doing Our Part

Ryan Blair, Co-Founder and CEO of ViSalus, remembers how low energy, low education and low self-esteem plagued him as a 260-pound teen living in an ominous, low-income neighborhood.  Thankfully, a mentor grabbed his attention and educated him on the importance of being healthy and staying active, and introduced him to entrepreneurialism.

Collaborating for Kids

In an effort to create a program that curbs the childhood obesity epidemic, ViSalus needed a partner with a presence in places where the company’s products would be most impactful.  So Blair reached out to It’s Time Kids, an Urban Born program aimed at getting inner-city youths on the right track mentally and physically through education, eating right, exercise and entrepreneurship.

Their premise is simple:  “Catch on now, so you don’t have to catch up later,” says rap star and It’s Time Kids spokesman Romeo Miller.  He and his father, Percy Miller, a five-time Grammy Award-winner and music mogul turned successful entrepreneur, are using their star and brain power to educate middle-school kids about the pitfalls of growing up in urban communities.

“What’s happening in many cases in urban communities is they’re only being marketed junk food, alcohol and cigarettes,” explains Blair.  Urban Born speaks to kids at a time when they are most at risk and with a voice they understand.  Using true stories  and music, Urban Born conveys critical messages through the 45-minute outreach programs they bring to urban schoolchildren.

Blair personally pledged $100,000 to jump-start a joint project between the Body by Vi Community Challenge, the It’s Time Kids program and Urban Born.  Together they’re working to eliminate childhood obesity in the United States.

When I work with new ViSalus clients starting their first Body by Vi^TM Challenge, I always recommend the same thing:  Don’t try to change everything, don’t start counting calories, don’t start a new exercise program – just replace two meals each day with Vi-Shape protein shakes for the first two weeks.  Just by making that one change, you will get 60 percent of your vitamins, lose weight or inches, feel better and sleep better.  Most important, you will believe in the ViSalus system and be ready to commit to other changes.  People need to trust a product.  They need to bring loyalty to a product.

Vi-Shape Shake

                Based on my experience, the Vi-shape shake is the best-tasting shake on the market today.  We use three different kinds of high-quality protein, so that we do not need to add fillers or fat, sodium and sugar to make them taste good.  We also use premium vanilla to provide outstanding flavor.  There’s a reason we call it “the shake mix that tastes like a cake mix.”  It is truly delicious!
