You Must Recommit to Your Goals on a Daily Basis in Order to Achieve Success

Its Tuesday, and I could easily have taken a break. Could have rolled back over and gotten an extra 30 minutes of sleep – which would have ensured that I missed my kickboxing class.  I could even have convinced myself that I’d workout in the pool later – and I might have – if it wasn’t for the ViSalus Body By Vi Challenge! You see, I set GOALS for this challenge. They are

1. Lose 4 lbs
2. Decrease my Body Mass index (BMI)
3. Increase muscle mass – get strong!
4. Get FIT!

And in order to get myself up out of bed this morning, I recommitted myself to those goals.  Otherwise I might have gotten a little lazy and slept in, and done a bit of exercise in the pool… but that wouldn’t have been nearly as good a workout as kickboxing was!
Instead I got myself up and out, knowing that I’d get an excellent workout out of the way early, and would feel far more accomplished for having done so.

So, up at 8:50, showered, dressed, Vi-Shape Shake with Banana Energy Charge mix-in in hand… I headed to my kickboxing class!

And accomplished my mini-goal for the day, which ultimately will help me through the 90 Day Body By Vi Challenge by ViSalus!

I use the same strategy to achieve success in my home based business.  Each day I recommit to my goals and examine the tasks at hand that will help me to get closer to accomplishing those goals.  When I’m feeling less than motivated, I re-up! I think of WHY I do what I do… and I put my head down and go to work – in my home office.

Man, I don’t wanna go back to job outside the home! I’ll keep at the task at hand and recommit and accomplish my my tasks for the day! I work hard on my work days, so I can play hard when I like :)

  1. Melanie,
I think you touched on something really important there. Everyone has heard that you should set goals and many know to break them down, but when you break it down to “this is what I have to do today”- then not only does it make your big goals doable, but also holds you accountable on a daily basis. It is impossible to say “Gee, I think I’ll take it easy today” and say “Man, it doesn’t seem like I am getting anywhere” without drawing the correlation between the two. Adrian (Videoman)

    Hi Melanie,

Great Vid and Insights! This video reminded me of what I did this morning before my morning workout. For a few minutes, I got into a mode of appreciation and gratitude of what I have and am. As I was in this moment of gratitude, I step outside. I felt refreshed by the morning. I was ready and excited to live the life I want and deserve.

I also had a moment of appreciation of the powerful webinar you put together last night. Your stuff is AWESOME. Thank you.

  3. Hi Melanie,

Really TRUE that many peoples take for granted to write down the GOALS and to setup crystal clear goals “correctly”.

As an anology- Can We or Rather YOU eat an Elephant? YES! by setting up long term and short terms goals, piece by piece, bit by bits!…and with time bound, says by 28 Feb:)

One important question :) Visalus – is it currently for US and Canada market only? Or open globally?

    Cheers!
